Collecting private information:
MM will collect personal information when it is required in order to allow MM to carry out its activities, or an associated entity requires MM to collect information on their behalf. Generally, if appropriate, and where it is not obvious at the time of collection, MM will tell the person whose information is being collected why their information is being collected and how the information is intended to be used. Personal information can be collected via the MM website, via email, via phone, or via other forms of communication (e.g. Forms). MM may also receive personal information from other organisations or associated entities.
MM will generally only collect personal information from the website when it is provided voluntarily. Examples of situations in which MM may seek to collect information from the website include:
- registrations to be a volunteer or to join the team;
- registrations to join a program or project;
- registrations to join an event (e.g. conference);
- payment for an event or a donation;
- registrations for a course or seminar; and
- the receipt of public feedback.
Use and disclosure of information:
MM will not utilise or disclose personal information it receives except in line with the guidelines set out in this Policy. MM will use personal information to develop and enhance its services to the community, to assist with its planning and management activities, and to market its services. MM may share information with associated entities. This may involve sending personal information overseas. MM may also disclose information to service providers, agents and contractors from time to time where such disclosure is required in the circumstances.
MM uses a variety of physical and electronic security measures, including restricting physical access to documents, and firewalls and secure databases to keep personal information secure from misuse, loss or unauthorised use or disclosure.
Members of the public have a right to access most personal information MM holds about them. Requests for information or complaints concerning information privacy should be made by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
MM may deny a request in some circumstances and an explanation will be given outlining the reasons why a request was denied.
Where a member of the public thinks information MM holds about them is inaccurate, they should send an email to should send an email to email@example.com and request correction. MM will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information is corrected.
