Daar Aasya.
Umm Sa’id bint Murra al-Fihri related from her father that the Prophet, upon whom be peace, said “I and the guardian of an orphan will be in the Garden like these two.” (His two fingers) (Bukhari).
The first project Mercy Mission has launched under the Family Portfolio is the Daar Aasya Muslim Children Foster Care Program. This is a truly important project for the Muslim community, not only because there is an urgent need to provide the means by which Muslim children in care can be placed with Muslim families, but also because there is a real need to educate the community about the importance of foster care.
Established both in the UK and Australia, the program focuses on:
Maturing community awareness of Muslim children in the foster care system
- Supporting the recruitment and development process of Muslim foster carers
- Providing non-Muslims the support and resources they need to care for Muslim children in the best way possible
- Linking non Muslim carers, organisations and professional bodies with national Islamic infrastructure
- Working with national bodies to represent the interests of Muslim children
- Our partners include:
- BAAF
- Fostering Outcomes
- Fostercare UNK
