General Manager, AlKauthar

Kashif Shabir is responsible for the Islamic Education Portfolio of Mercy Mission in his capacity as General Manager for AlKauthar International. He is a member of both Mercy Mission UK and World Shurah.

Kashif Shabir was born and brought up in the UK. He has almost 15 years of experience in the IT sector and is currently a Development Manager for Customer Services IT in a global telecommunications company.

He has travelled to and worked in many countries such as the US, Canada, Singapore and Europe. Utilizing his vast experience, he successfully manages new product development for AlKauthar and oversees its expansion efforts.

His passion to improve the way Muslims work with each other and with others has allowed him to positively contribute to Mercy Mission realising its vision. The very nature of how Mercy Mission works as a Dawah organisation aligns with his own personal aspirations on how he wishes to pursue his obligation to Dawah and hence, 3 years after joining Mercy Mission, he is leading one of the premier Islamic institutes, with operations in 5 continents.

As with other Mercy Mission team members Kashif is hard-pressed to find time juggling between full time employment, family and religious duties but enjoys most sports and is a regular gym-goer. Even after two torn ACLs and a couple of knee injuries, he continues to dream of playing football (soccer) again one day. If given more time though, he would like to go through his ever expanding, ‘unread’ library of Islamic history books and study for an MBA to assist Islamic organisations to not only achieve their ambitions but to help ensure organisations are in a position to deliver effective Dawah.
