Operations Manager (Family & Community Portfolios), Mercy Mission Australia

Jeneefar started with Mercy Mission Australia as a project manager for the Zamzam Environment Sustainability Program in 2007. Shortly therafter, in recognition of their efforts to introduce water saving projects in several masajid in Melbourne, Mercy Mission was shortlisted as finalist for the SaveWater Awards, Australia in 2009. In 2010 Jeneefar took over as Operations Manager for the ‘Family and Community’ portfolios in Mercy Mission Australia. He is currently working alongside 5 project managers in Daar Aasya, Zamzam ESP and Parenting projects. He is also a Mercy Mission Australia regional shura member.

He holds a Masters degree in Information Management from Monash University and works as an IT project manager for a water supply company in Melbourne. Prior to this, he worked for University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, after graduating from it in 2002.

Jeneefar has more than a decade worth of experience in Dawah, both in Sri Lanka and Australia. He loves to see the community, and particularly its youth, benefit from the projects that Mercy Mission runs. He is wholeheartedly committed to the Mercy Mission vision of achieving a healthier community while hoping for the pleasure of Allah. A passionate environmentalist, Jeneefar Makbool can be found on the weekends working away in his garden or on wood work projects. By his own testimony, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in as natural an environment as possible.
