Asima Iqbal is an integral part of the Mercy Mission UK’s Marketing team. Holding an Honours Degree in Economics, for over 8 years, Asima has been a Project Delivery Manager for UK’s largest Regional Development Agency (NWDA). Mercy Mission has a very special place in her heart given that it is the first professional da’wah organization she has attached herself with. Her life has changed ever since.
When Asima joined Mercy Mission, it was only natural that she would join in a high capacity. Before recently joining the Marketing team, she performed the role of Project Manager for two years. As a project Manager, she worked closely with the Head of functions to develop key projects and support systems. Having a flair for writing, her future involvement with Mercy Mission was something that came naturally. She eventually joined the marketing team as an editor and works on various tasks such as writing press releases, newsletters, articles, website content, etc as well as serving as an editor of general written content.
Being a strong believer in effective communication for a stronger & better future, Asima believes that in a world of mass communication, effectively spreading the message of Mercy Mission through the written word is vitally important. She hopes that through her efforts, the right image of Mercy Mission can be projected to the world, giving people the confidence to trust and support us in our work and ultimately taking us closer to achieving our vision.
Asima’s vision for life is to utilize Mercy Mission as the vehicle that allows her to engage in proactive Daw’ah work to further the cause of Islam. She is very much attached to the work she does and believes that once one has been involved with the da’wah in a meaningful way, one can never leave it! Hence, her life revolves around her passion & mission in life – to be involved with the Islamic daw’ah. Given the scope of her involvement, she rarely gets any “free time” however tries to make some to enjoy outdoor activities and travel with friends and family to see & appreciate the creation of Allah. Her formula for a good time is: great food + great company = fun!
