Hassan Newaz.

AlKauthar Canada, Program Manager

Hassan loves the world of operational uncertainty and specializes in gap remediation and risk management. He spent his childhood in Nigeria, teenage years in Bangladesh and then came to Canada to complete his schooling. Armed with a degree in Software Engineering, he entered the workforce in 2003 and is currently a Senior Consultant with a large International.

In keeping with the Hadith of Intentions, he migrated from Vancouver to Toronto, to get married and is the father of 2 ‘wild’ boys. His interests are varied. He is a Canucks (NHL) & Lakers (NBA) fan and is still waiting patiently for the day when Liverpool are EPL champions. Sadly he only plays a bit of soccer/football and had to give up watching sports since Mercy Mission took over his life. He loves travelling which his wife dislikes and has experienced the beauty of Canada (Memorables: Going to work in -54 C in Saskatoon, driving in a white-out blizzard, bus ride thru the Rockies, boat ride to the bottom of Niagara Falls, a 540 degree spin on a foggy night from Sask to Edmonton).

His involvement in social work dates back to his days at his university, where he was involved with the MSA. He has been involved in the setting up of a Youth Center, was the national coordinator for a youth group, sat on the board of an Islamic school amongst other activities.

Hassan started off with Mercy Mission Canada after the first AlKauthar course in Toronto. He served as the Operations Manager and contributed to Mercy Mission Canada’s official launch at Journey of Faith, 2009. Since then he has worked on a variety of projects around the world.

He is currently the AlKauthar Program Manager for Canada. He credits AlKauthar with giving him that consistency in seeking knowledge and is a member of the Students Guild. Having experienced the benefits of it, he is passionate about taking AlKauthar to every corner of the world.
