The ongoing famine in Somalia has been called one of the worst humanitarian crisis in our time.Approximately 10 million people are directly affected. As such, World House Party this year has been dedicated toward Somalia relief efforts as well as 5 local causes. We call upon each and every Muslim to take advantage of this chance of ibaadah – as giving for the sake of Allah has been prescribed upon the Muslims. In an authentic narration, the prophet (upon whom be peace) said:
“The believers, in their love, mutual kindness, and close ties, are like one body; when any part complains, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.”

Through World House Party, Muslims from around the world are encouraged to hold fundraising parties, whereby guest donate a nominal amount ($10-20) towards a defined cause. All profits are donated to each cause.

Following the worst droughts the region has experienced/seen in over 50 years, the famine in Southern Somalia has had a devastating impact, affecting approximately 10 million people and leaving 2.5 million children under 5 severely malnourished. |
