“There is none amongst the believers who plants a tree, or sows a seed; and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats thereof, but it is regarded as having given a charitable gift (for which there is great recompense).” [Al-Bukhari 3:513]
Conserving our most precious natural resource is the one of the most pressing issues of our time. As Muslims, we are commanded to protect the environment and to use resources wisely, as these are a trust from Allah (swt) to us.
The Zamzam Environmental Sustainability Program (ZESP) is a comprehensive program of related projects aimed at the protection of our environment by raising community awareness, education and behaviour change, deployment of environmentally friendly equipment at community centres and assisting Muslims in living sustainable lifestyles.
